At 34 years old, I was a mom of two young children, a business owner, and a woman who thought I was doing everything right. I worked out, meal prepped, stayed active, chased my kids around, and tried to take care of myself. Cancer was the last thing I ever expected to hear.
Then came the words that changed everything: aggressive triple-negative breast cancer.
My diagnosis turned my ordinary life upside down. What followed was a year of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, surgery, and radiation—along with fear, uncertainty, exhaustion, tears, countless questions, and moments when I wasn't sure how I was going to make it through.
But there was also something else: faith, strength, hope, and a determination to keep fighting.
Throughout my journey, my faith in Jesus became more important than ever. I learned that I could be afraid and still be brave. I could have questions and still have faith. I could feel completely overwhelmed and still take the next step.
I also discovered that my cancer journey was about more than treatment. Genetic testing revealed that I carry a BRCA1 gene mutation, something I never knew was part of my story. That discovery changed not only how I looked at my own health, but how I thought about my family and the importance of advocating for yourself.
Today, I am a breast cancer survivor, cancer advocate, mentor, and mom who believes deeply in the power of sharing our stories.
I created this space for the person who just heard the words “you have cancer.” For the mom who is terrified about what comes next. For the family member who doesn't know what to say. For the survivor trying to find her new normal. And for anyone who simply needs to know that they are not alone.
I don't have all the answers. But I know what it feels like to sit in the waiting room. To hear words you never thought you'd hear. To make decisions while you're scared. To worry about your children. To lose pieces of yourself and slowly find them again.
My hope is that through my story, my writing, advocacy, and mentorship, I can help make someone else's journey a little less lonely—and remind them that even in the hardest seasons, there can still be hope.
This is my story. And if you're here because cancer has become part of yours, I'm honored to walk alongside you.
